Law and Grace
The Foundations of Ethical Living

In a culture where everything is relative, people emerge without moral absolutes. As tolerance is propagated, ethical lines become blurred and reality begins to blend in with a society devoid of justice, natural law, and even liberty. Though it is human nature to take the path of least resistance, when this happens, communities are deprived of right-thinking examples who rise above mediocrity to become strong leaders above reproach. Ethical limits can be defined through contracts. God made covenants or contracts with His people outlining limits of acceptable behavior. Because God is good, we know the limits He establishes are good for us. Through leaders like Moses, God laid down laws to guide people in the way they behave. New Testament writers added to the ethical structure when they wrote that a right relationship with Christ meant living right for Christ by grace regardless of cultural venues and circumstances. This study series will challenge students to behave. It will allow students to explore how the Old Testament law and covenant relate to their current conduct and how New Testament guidelines for living will enhance their lives.
